The East Central Chapter of the North Florida PGA's Teacher of the Year goes to the director of instructional programs at Orlando’s Faldo Golf Institute by Marriott.

The East Central Chapter of the North Florida PGA recently honored Chip Koehlke, director of instructional programs at Orlando’s Faldo Golf Institute by Marriott, with the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award.

During his 25-year career, Koehlke, a PGA professional, has developed and coached many elite amateur and professional players who have enjoyed great success, including a professional major champion. In 1997, Koehlke joined the Faldo Golf Institute as the director of instruction where he created and implemented programs that impact more than 5,000 students per year.

“I am honored to receive this award from my peers,” Koehlke says. “Coaching and impacting the growth of the game is my passion, and I am fortunate to be able to do what I love. Our programming provides more than just technical teaching, and I feel this award recognizes our staff’s holistic approach to improve our students.  Receiving this award is an acknowledgement that what we offer is making a difference in the enjoyment of the sport.”

Originally from Cincinnati, Koehlke earned a B.S. degree in professional golf management at Ferris State University. In addition to this PGA recognition, Koehlke has also been recognized as a top instructor by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.
