Powell, Ohio - With 33 acres of lush fairways and manicured greens, Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club plans to offer a world-class challenge in the heart of small town Powell, which is near Columbus.
The 18-hole, par-72, 7,200-yard golf course was designed by architect Arthur Hills.
"It's a straightforward, strategic golf course with a reward for every good shot and ample room to recover for lesser play," Hills said.
The turf on the course has been left to grow in and mature for almost two years before opening.
"Leaving the grass to grow and strengthen its roots without play for two years is like five years of growth with play," golf course superintendent Don Sutton said. "This along with Ohio's largest 18-hole irrigation system promises we will have well-established grass, conditioned to perfection."
Kinsale is currently accepting membership applications and also will allow limited nonmember play for the first season.
