Val D’Souza has been promoted to general manager of the Tom Fazio-designed Butterfield Trail Golf Club, a championship caliber course which, in January, was named to GOLF Magazine’s “Top 10 New Courses You Can Play.” In his new assignment, D’Souza will oversee all daily operations.
Having been on the KemperSports team at Butterfield Trail since the club’s opening in June of 2007, D’Souza first served as head golf professional and then was named interim general manager in March 2008.
A graduate of New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Professional Golf Management, D’Souza has been a PGA Class ‘A’ Member since 2000. He has more than nine years of management level experience at high-end daily fee clubs.
"We are pleased that KemperSports has selected a general manager with roots in the El Paso region," said Patrick T. Abeln, director of aviation for the El Paso International Airport, which owns the course. "Val's business experience and golf education make him an excellent choice as general manager for Butterfield Trail."
