The new Madinat Makadi Golf Course at Madinat Makadi Golf Resort is golf course architect John Sanford's latest design in Egypt, located near the Red Sea. The new course opened in January.
Sanford created a wonderful routing overlooking the coastline of the Red Sea. The Madinat Makadi Golf Course meanders through the sandy slopes above the beachside resort offering panoramic views of the sea. This new championship layout is the third course of its kind for this growing resort destination.
The course, which measures 7,500 yards, features six sets of tees, which can be played by golfers of all levels including juniors from 4,500 yards. The front nine is routed on the flatter portion of the site featuring three lakes that are connected by rock-lined creeks and two cascading waterfalls. The back nine is the more dramatic of the two nines, featuring more elevation changes with four holes located in ancient wadiis.
Complimenting the fine layout, Sanford has designed a beautiful 20-acre practice facility along with a 9-hole short course with three additional practice holes.
"The course will present a variety of shot-making opportunities for all levels of golfers, including beginners who will love the short course," Sanford said.
