Jim McLean Golf Schools Canada and The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) officially opened the Jim McLean Golf School at NPC’s Legends on the Niagara facility. The school, which is McLean’s second in Canada, will feature advanced teaching technology and some of the game’s top instructors.
“We pursued this partnership with the Jim Mclean Golf Schools because every major golf destination offers professional golf teaching services and facilities,” says Jim Williams, Chair of the Niagara Parks Commission. “With this launch today, Niagara’s profile and reputation as a world-class golf destination are sure to be enhanced,” he adds.
The opening event featured Jim McLean leading a special instructional seminar featuring his eight-step swing methodology. Also at the event, Jim McLean Golf Schools Canada Chief Executive Officer, Jim Frye made a major announcement concerning the organization’s future initiatives which included; a special international Web site for all Jim McLean properties featuring, the Jim McLean Tour Club, a membership-based virtual golf experience with podcasts, web-based instruction and an on-line teaching library.
Frye also announced the Jim McLean Tour Card, a rewards/loyalty program where members receive discounts, specials and can accumulate points and redeem them for golf and lifestyle rewards. Frye announced a commitment by Jim McLean Golf Schools to pilot new teachings and technologies at the Niagara Falls school.
“What a great partnership for Jim Mclean Golf Schools and Niagara Parks,” Frye says. “We’re excited that the newest and best of the McLean philosophy will debut here at Legends.”
Jim McLean Golf Schools are located in the U.S., Canada, Spain and the Bahamas. The Niagara school is located just south of Niagara Falls near the village of Chippawa, at the 283-hectare Legends on the Niagara, which includes two championship 18-hole courses, a nine-hole executive layout, a 360-degree circular driving range, and a full-service clubhouse. The 2,000 square foot teaching facility features three state of the art, all-weather teaching bays with world-class technology enabling comprehensive video and computer swing analysis.
Also on hand at the event were junior winners from the first Jim McLean Golf Open who were presented awards by McLean. Jim McLean and his golf schools are dedicated leaders in promotion of junior golf and Frye believes having a world famous teacher as part of the Legends team will strengthen Niagara’s reputation and commitment to junior golf.
