Jacobsen realigns dealership territories

Golf Ventures West and C & M open new locations.

Jacobsen has announced a realignment of dealer responsibilities in the western portion of the United States with extended territories allocated to Golf Ventures West, of Phoenix, Ariz., and C & M Golf and Grounds Equipment (C & M), of Waco, Tex.

Golf Ventures West has been appointed as an authorized Jacobsen Golf and Professional Turf Equipment dealer for northern California and western Nevada, the territory previously covered by H.V. Carter Co.

Golf Ventures West has serviced the professional turf manager market in southern California, Arizona and Las Vegas since 2004 and is a strong supporter of the California Golf Course Superintendents Association.

Mike D. Eastwood, president of Golf Ventures West, has assembled a professional staff in all areas of the business to provide excellent customer service throughout the new territory. Eastwood knows this territory well, starting his career in the area more than 25 years ago. He also served as the manager of H.V. Carter Co. in the mid-1990s.

Dan Rogers has accepted the position as general manager with Golf Ventures West, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the northern California market to the company. Golf Ventures West has opened its first location in Hayward, Calif. In the next 60 days, the company will open its second location in Sacramento, Calif.

C & M Golf and Grounds Equipment has been appointed as the authorized Jacobsen Golf and Professional Turf Equipment Dealer for Colorado, New Mexico, western Texas and parts of Nebraska and Wyoming, replacing McPhilomy Commercial Products Co.

C & M has serviced the central and south Texas territories for Jacobsen since 1978. Current owners Jerry Don Mathis, Jeff Mathis, and Ron Smyers will share responsibilities of running the expanded operation. For the past 31 years, C & M has grown and increased customer retention by focusing on relationships with their customers while providing strong after-sales support from their professional personnel.

Jeff Mathis, C & M’s dealer principal, commented, “We are very blessed to be presented with this opportunity. This is a perfect time to come into a marketplace with the incredible technology Jacobsen offers. Equipment such as the new Eclipse 322 riding greens mower allows C & M the chance to provide customers new options not previously available. These include zero hydraulics, zero emissions and the lowest cost-of-ownership of any greens mower on the market.”

C & M has established a new location in Denver which includes a fully stocked parts distribution center and a full Jacobsen equipment demo line. Additionally, a new C & M service depot will be opened in the Albuquerque area early in 2010.

Mark Williams, Jacobsen’s western regional sales manager, said, “We are delighted to allocate two of our premier dealers with extensions to their territories. Over the years both have provided service excellence to professional turf managers in their respective areas and I am confident that they will continue this tradition going forward.”
