Jacobsen Hardy promotes VanHoose

Houston – Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design promoted Rex VanHoose to senior vice president/managing architect.

Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design is the architectural partnership of PGA Tour and course development veterans Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy.

VanHoose was integral in the design and construction of many projects, in addition to Jacobsen Hardy’s renovation work at Salishan Golf Links in Gleneden Beach, Ore., and Galveston Country Club on the Texas Gulf coast.

In his new position, VanHoose will report directly to both Jacobsen and Hardy while directing all of the firm’s projects now in design and construction. Those jobs under construction include The Rope Rider GC at Suncadia Resort in Roslyn, Wash., The Golf Club at Gray’s Crossing in Truckee, Calif., and Brasada Canyons GC in Redmond, Ore.

VanHoose joined the Jacobsen Hardy team in 2001 after spending seven years working in the golf course development business, first as a project superintendent for Rausch Construction, then as a design associate for both Keith Foster Golf Course Design and Lohmann Golf Designs. He’s a graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. In Lubbock, he was awarded a Mobile Land Development Scholarship, which enabled his study of golf course design through the creation and completion of a series of special projects curricula in course architecture.

In his new position, Rex will manage our current project load and direct future growth.”
