The Pocono Mountains Vacation Bureau, Inc. announced that Jack Frost National Golf Club in Blakeslee has welcomed its first 25 charter members.
With the success of the sale of the first 25 charter memberships, Jack Frost National has decided to release an additional 25 charter memberships. The benefits include a transferability component as well as a refundable aspect of the membership.
The mountain-resort course will be open to the public and anticipates hosting its first event this fall for members and media. Grand Opening is scheduled for spring 2007. Jack Frost National was originally planned to open this fall, however, an inordinate amount of rain this spring and summer precipitated the change.
Upon opening, Jack Frost National Golf Club will join more than 35 resort and golf properties which are home to hundreds of holes of golf in the lush mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania and comprise the area's rich golf destination - "Pocono Mountains: Discover Golf's Great Destination Secret."
Jack Frost National Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course which will measure more than 7,200 yards and feature Lo-Mo Bluegrass fairways and Penn-4 Bent grass greens. Double-row irrigation system, five sets of tee boxes and a state-of-the-art practice facility are other facility attributes.
"This piece of land has turned into a spectacular and challenging golf course, and we look forward to early spring to debut this exceptional layout," says Tom Wheary, president of Golf Strategies, LLC, which is the project manager at Jack Frost National and will manage course operation upon opening. "The design can play on your emotions, forgiving fairways and well-bunkered greens will be fun for all skill levels. This course is surely one you will not forget."
