Irrigation Association President John Roberts says the irrigation industry must prepare now to thrive in a world where demand for finite water resources is growing rapidly, and the association's annual show provides a forum to discuss these issues.
“Communication with policymakers, innovative technology, and professionalism through education and certification are keys to our future in this new environment,” Roberts said. “The Irrigation Association has made great strides in these areas, and the International Irrigation Show provides an opportunity to advance these critical goals.”
The annual International Irrigation Show is the irrigation industry’s opportunity to meet customers and colleagues, share information about the latest research and technology, and discuss challenges ahead.
San Diego is the next stop for the show, which is the largest gathering of irrigation equipment and services in the world. The 28th International Irrigation Show Dec. 9-11 will include an expo, technical conference, a new product contest, classes, certification exams, industry meetings and more. Classes and exams are available Dec. 6-11.
“At the annual breakfast, we will share information about the association’s new strategic plan, which was developed with input from leaders from each segment of the industry,” Roberts said. “We will also discuss advances in government affairs and education.”
The show will include a reception aboard the USS Midway for irrigation contractors, the fastest growing segment of the Irrigation Association. The technical conference will feature three days of presentations on topics in agriculture and turf/landscape. The new product contest will return, and the breakfast will feature awards recognizing innovators in the industry.
