GPS Industries, Inc., a leading innovator of Wi-Fi wireless and GPS-enabled multimedia communications and management solutions for golf facilities and residential communities, announced that Glynns Creek Golf Course in Long Grove, Iowa, owned and operated by the Scott County Conservation Board, has installed GPS Industries' Inforemer Wi-Fi GPS golf business solution. As part of the installation, GPS Industries extended Wi-Fi wireless Internet services to Scott County's Bald Eagle campground.
Glynns Creek, a championship par-72 course, was awarded four stars by Golf Digest's Best Places to Play and Bestgolfcourses.com ranks the course among the top five public-access/daily-fee courses in Iowa. GPS Industries has installed the complete Inforemer Wi-Fi GPS golf business solution at Glynns Creek and equipped its fleet of 76 gas-powered carts with 10.4 inch color GPS units along with two grounds-keeper units.
Glynns Creek will use Inforemer to reduce and control costs, increase pace-of-play, improve customer service and generate more revenue through tournaments, food and beverage ordering, advertising and wireless services.
"We did our research, and GPS Industries is the only company that can give us GPS on the golf course and extend wireless Wi-Fi Internet services to both our golf facility and our campground," comments Roger Kean, Director of the Scott County Conservation Board. "We are excited to be the first facility in the Quad Cities market to provide GPS to our golfers, and the wireless Internet access will certainly increase our level of service."
GPS Industries deploys a complete Wi-Fi wireless infrastructure as part of its Inforemer installation. This infrastructure enhances the capabilities of the GPS units on the course, streamlines internal operations and generates new revenue through wireless Internet access from anywhere across the facility.
"Most hotpots are confined to a small area, like the clubhouse," comments Blake Ponuick, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at GPSI. "However, with Inforemer, we install a series of repeaters providing ubiquitous Wi-Fi coverage across an entire golf facility, allowing guests to access the Internet wirelessly from anywhere, anytime. At Glynns Creek, we've extended our wireless facilities to allow campers to enjoy the natural environment without losing touch with the world."
The installation at Glynns Creek follows GPSI's recent announcement of the purchase of the GPS golf patents for North America. GPSI now owns the patents for all major markets in the worldwide golf marketplace.
