Club managers from across the world arrive in London this week for the sixth annual Business Management Institute (BMI) International Conference, October 16-21.
Ninety managers from 18 countries are attending the event, organized by the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) and the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), featuring a keynote address on leadership in sports by Europe’s most successful Ryder Cup captain Tony Jacklin.
“The BMI International Conference is a great way for club managers from America, Europe and the Middle East to get together, network and share best practice,” says CMAE c.e.o. Jerry Kilby. “There is an outstanding line-up of educational sessions and speakers, with presentations and social events taking place at a variety of prestigious and cosmopolitan settings in and around the capital.”
On the agenda for the meeting, themed, “Tradition, Innovation and Future Global Trends,” will be a variety of educational presentations and discussions including business leadership, technology for clubs, plus marketing and media relations. There will also be sessions on what the Certified Club Manager (CCM) program has done for the professional development of managers in America, and expectations for the recently introduced European CCM.
