Barb Trammell, a golf industry veteran who is regarded as a preeminent rules expert and golf event administrator, has announced the launch of VisionFore Solutions, a global golf consulting company.
Trammel has experience at the highest levels of international tournament competition, administration, and rules and regulation implementation.
VisionFore Solutions’ consulting services will offer leadership, event management, competition and rules expertise to its clients. As such, the company’s primary customer base will encompass professional tours and their events, corporate or charity tournaments, regional competitions, club championships, college or school programs, and instructional clinics and rules workshops.
“Throughout my years of involvement in the administration of golf events around the world, it was always apparent that golf operators from the professional tour level to the amateur and club level could benefit greatly from an objective, outside perspective in areas for which they don’t necessarily have expertise,” Trammell says. “By filling this important niche, we hope to provide a partnership that will maximize the success of golf administrators by assisting them in increasing the scope and level of service they provide to event participants, customers, members, employees and students of the game.”
Trammell’s experience spans 25 years in the golf industry. In her most recent role as senior vice president of tournament operations for the LPGA, Trammell oversaw the annual management of competitions for approximately 30-35 tournaments in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. As such, her experience includes event planning, organizational development, team-building, extensive hands-on operations management, rules arbitration, pace of play improvement, coordination of site logistics, golf course marking and set-up for competition, as well as daily officiating.
She has served on the USGA Rules of Golf Executive Committee for the past 15 years and, in addition to the LPGA’s major championships, is one of the first women to have been invited to officiate all four men’s major championships. Prior to joining the LPGA staff in 1987, Trammell had enjoyed roles as a PGA club professional and as a Division I college golf coach. She is still a member of the PGA of America.
