Matt Weitz, golf course superintendent of Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Ind., has taken delivery of a package of turf care equipment from Midwest Golf & Turf, Jacobsen’s local dealer for the region.
Midwest Golf & Turf’s sales representative Mike Scholl sealed the deal, which totaled close to $500,000 and included a selection of SLF-1880 fairway mowers, Eclipse 122F walking greens mowers, an AR-522 rough mower, AR-3 trim mowers and Cushman Turf-Trucksters.
“My search for a new leasing agreement began back in February when I arrived from Hillcrest Country Club,” Weitz said. “After months of close interaction with the three main manufacturers, it became clear to me that Jacobsen was the equipment best suited for my course.
“The quality of the Jacobsen equipment, supplemented with the first class service provided by Midwest Golf & Turf made my decision very easy,” he said. “With specifics to the equipment, the Eclipse walking mowers and the SLF-1880 fairway units provide the high quality of cut on turf that a top 25 golf club demands. That’s down to the groomers and new Classic XP reels which stay sharper, longer.
“After being an assistant at Victoria National and a head superintendent where both courses had equipment packages already in place, the experience of choosing my own equipment for the first time was intense yet very rewarding,” Weitz added.
