VALDOSTA, Ga. – Charles Ardell, superintendent at Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale, Ill., is the winner of a golfing package for two at The Phoenician resort in Arizona. Phoenix Environmental Care sponsored the trip with the winner selected from a drawing at the Golf Industry Show in Atlanta.
“All anyone had to do was visit our booth and sign up to win,” says Owen Towne, Phoenix Environmental Care president. “At the end of the show, we drew a name from the list of qualified attendees and Charles Ardell was the lucky guy.”
Towne says the package, appropriately called The Master’s Getaway, includes four days of deluxe accommodations and unlimited golf on the resort’s challenging 27 holes.
When contacted at Indian Lakes Resort where he’s been superintendent for three years, Ardell says he’s not the type of person who wins drawings. “I know everyone says ‘this is the first thing I’ve ever won,’ but for me it’s very true,” he says. “Now, I have a lot of friends who win things all the time, but I’m not usually the lucky one. So this is truly a first for me, and I really appreciate it. I say thanks to Phoenix for sending me to Phoenix!”
