Jackson, Miss. – The National Golf Association’s Hooters Professional Golf Tour will visit Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Choctaw, Miss., Aug. 15 through 21, for the Pearl River Resort Golf Classic.

Craig Ray, director of the Mississippi Development Authority Tourism Division. “Dancing Rabbit at Pearl River Resort is a truly exceptional venue and one the competitors, fans and visitors won’t soon to forget.”
The Oaks and Azaleas courses at Dancing Rabbit were both designed by Tom Fazio and Jerry Pate. The Azaleas ranks as the second best course in Mississippi according to Golf Digest, as well the 70th best public course in the country, also by Golf Digest. Golf Magazine rates the Azaleas course No. 34 on its top 100 public courses list.
“To host the only NGA event in Mississippi this year is very exciting for us,” says Pearl River Resort president Chuck Miller. “The Pearl River Resort Golf Classic is another opportunity to showcase the amazing courses at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, as well as the entire resort.”
Mark Powell, director of golf for Pearl River Resort, says he expects the Dancing Rabbit to impress the players.
“The courses are in excellent condition and we are excited about the opportunity,” Powell says. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy watching these professionals compete on two of the best courses in the nation.”
A qualifying round will be played Aug. 15, with practice rounds scheduled for Aug. 16 and 17. Tournament play begins each day at 7:30 a.m., Aug. 18 through 21.
