Hawk's Landing Golf Club names director of golf operations

Marriott Golf named Michael Hodgins to the position at the Orlando, Fla., golf course.

Marriott Golf announced that Michael Hodgins has been named director of golf operations at Hawk’s Landing Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. Hodgins will be responsible for overseeing all golf shop operations, retail merchandising, golf programming, and outings and tournament coordination at the 18-hole Robert Cupp Junior designed facility.

Hodgins comes to Hawk’s Landing from Riverwood Resort in Mount Pleasant, Mich., where he served as director of operations and general manager.  During his time there, Hodgins was responsible for overseeing a staff of 70, while managing the daily operations and grounds maintenance of a 27-hole golf facility, banquet facility and restaurant.

Prior to his time at Riverwood Resort, Hodgins spent time as the head golf professional at Oakridge Country Club in Garland, Texas, before becoming manager of Katke Golf Club at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich.  In addition, Hodgins also served as the golf shop supervisor at Seaview Resort & Spa, one of Marriott Golf’s premier facilities in the Northeast.

A Class A Member of the PGA of America for more than 15 years, Hodgins received the 2003 Horton Smith Award for excellence in education among fellow PGA members in the PGA Michigan Section. Hodgins received a Master's degree in career & technical education and a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and professional golf management from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich.
