Hamilton Farm Golf Club has chosen personnel for its two golf professional positions, naming Matt Freitag as director of golf and John McDole as head golf professional. After careful consideration, the decision was made to promote from within the Hamilton Farm family. Both Freitag and McDole have golf backgrounds as well as a knowledge of the membership.
Freitag, a member of the golf professional staff at Hamilton Farm since April 2004, was first hired as an assistant professional. His industry experience includes positions at Seminole Golf Club and Jupiter Island Club in Florida as well as Inverness Club in Ohio. Freitag also holds the course records at Hamilton Farm on both the Highlands Championship course as well as the Par-3 Hickory course. He was elected a member of the PGA of America in February 2005. Freitag’s knowledge and passion for golf led him to a promotion to Head Golf Professional in March 2007, and now will become director of golf.
McDole has been director of golf & head golf professional at both Basking Ridge Country Club in Basking Ridge, N.J., and Greenbriar at Whittingham Golf Club in Monroe, N.J. He was elected to the PGA of America in December 2001. McDole came to Hamilton Farm after accepting the position of assistant professional in March 2008. After only four months he has been promoted to head golf professional based upon his proficiency in all areas of golf management, especially the business management aspect.
“I am excited to take on the responsibility as head golf professional and welcome the opportunity to provide the best golf experience to members and guests," McDole said. "I'm looking forward to being part of the Hamilton Farm family for years to come."
Tim Bakels, general manager and c.o.o. of Hamilton Farm, recognized the potential in both Freitag and McDole.
“Both gentlemen’s past performance has been remarkable," he said. "These are two quality professionals who deserve this opportunity."
