Half Moon Bay provides single-rider carts

Half Moon Bay Golf Links has become the latest golf facility to secure one-person golf carts specially designed to allow mobility for impaired golfers.

Half Moon Bay, Calif. - Half Moon Bay Golf Links has become the latest golf facility to secure one-person golf carts specially designed to allow mobility for impaired golfers.

With its purchase from SoloRider, Half Moon Bay Golf Links will be able to accommodate guests who are mobility impaired.  The special carts are to be available this spring.

“The technology used to build these carts is a fantastic development for addressing the needs of mobility impaired golfers,” says Lyn Nelson, general manager for the Half Moon Bay Golf Links.  “They fit perfectly with our philosophy to provide golfers the opportunity to experience some of the best golf in the world.”

The SoloRider, individually produced to exact specifications, will be available for use on the Old Course and the Ocean Course.  The specially designed carts have supporting rotary seats that enable mobility impaired golfers to enjoy a round of golf.  Unlike other carts, they are lighter in weight and can be used on tees, greens and other areas of the course.

Located just 30 miles south of San Francisco along California’s scenic Highway One, this destination was created with the golfer in mind.  The 36-hole golf facility consists of the aptly named Ocean Course, a par 72 layout that offers inspiring ocean views from all 18 holes, and the Old Course, which was originally designed by Francis Duane and Arnold Palmer in 1973.
