The Gulf Coast Golf Course Superintendents Association will donate $8,000 to the University of Florida, West Florida Research and Education Center in Jay, for the addition of a 30-foot-by-48-foot greenhouse facility. It will enable researchers to conduct more effective research on turfgrass fertility and turfgrass management.
The presentation of the donation is at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the 10th annual Gulf Coast Turfgrass Expo and Field Day at the West Florida Research and Education Center Research Farm in Jay.
The Gulf Coast Turfgrass Expo & Field Day attracts more than 400 turfgrass managers, researchers and industry vendors from throughout the Southeast. The event includes tours of current research being conducted at the Research Farm, a vendor exposition, equipment demonstrations, chipping and putting contest, lunch and CEU workshops on equipment calibration, insect identification and management, weed identification and management and pesticide safety and usage.
