The agronomy team at The Greenbrier Resort is looking for volunteers to work The Greenbrier Classic July 3-9, 2017. The event will mark the PGA Tour’s return to White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., after a historic flood last June forced the cancellation of the 2016 tournament.
The flood affected thousands of lives and severely damaged every golf course at the resort, including The Old White TPC. A major effort to restore the course for the 2017 The Greenbrier Classic started last July.
The agronomy team is looking for 30 turf volunteers. Full-week volunteers will receive lodging from Sunday, July 2 to Sunday, July 9, as well as transportation, breakfast and dinner, shirts, and other gifts for their service. Those flying in should fly into Roanoke, Va., (ROA) or Lewisburg, W.Va., (LWB). CLICK HERE and use the promotional code turfcare to register. The deadline is June 5, 2017. There will be a mandatory volunteer meeting at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 2 at the turf care maintenance facility.
Email assistant superintendents Chris Anderson (chris_anderson@greenbrier.com) or Greg Caldwell (greg_caldwell@greenbrier.com) for more information.
