Green Lake Golf, an Arizona-based sustainable golf course redevelopment company, added Erik Distler as its strategic sustainability advisor. The external advisory role advances the company’s long-term commitment to environmental responsibility, sustainable development and community impact.

Distler currently serves as the sustainability VP at AEG, a sports and live entertainment company, where he oversees the company’s global corporate sustainability program. With a distinguished career in the governance of environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility, he brings expertise in designing and implementing strategies that drive environmental performance and business value. His appointment is a step forward in GLG’s mission to integrate sustainability into the core of its operations, programming and property development.

“I’m excited to serve Green Lake Golf in this strategic advisory capacity at such a pivotal time for sustainability in the golf space,” Distler said. “The vision shared by GLG leadership in this arena is ambitious and authentic — I look forward to collaborating with them to apply sustainability best practices throughout all aspects of their business.”

“Erik is a proven leader in sustainability, and we are honored to welcome him as a strategic advisor,” GLG co-founder and principal Jeff Schwinkendorf said. “His forward-thinking approach and collaborative mindset will help us elevate our environmental stewardship and ensure that Green Lake Golf sets a sound standard for sustainable golf course redevelopment.”

As strategic advisor, Distler will guide GLG’s development of a comprehensive sustainability roadmap. This initiative will focus on key areas such as water and energy conservation, habitat restoration, carbon footprint reduction, eco-conscious construction and community engagement. He will also consult on best practices in sustainable operations, partnerships and long-term planning that align with both local ecosystems and global climate goals.

“We feel the addition of Erik to our team as a strategic advisor will earnestly validate our desire to be first and best in class when it comes to sustainable golf course redevelopment,” GLG co-founder and principal Jamie Cook said. “We are very deliberate in our efforts to lead with sustainability best practices in all that we do, and Erik’s expertise will certainly permeate through all which we bring to the table for our clients.”

Distler will play an integral role representing GLG’s sustainability interests — one of four pillars in its business model, along with golf course renovation, legal advisement and real estate services.
