VANCOUVER, B.C. - Partnership means Hilton Head Island golf courses and communities have access to a complete golf business solution at a reduced cost.
GPS Industries partnered with broadband wireless provider Epproach Communications to provide its Inforemer GPS-based golf solution to high-end golf and resort communities on Hilton Head Island.
South Carolina based EC is implementing a high-speed wireless network for Internet access at high-end golf and resort communities on Hilton Head Island and has plans to expand regionally and nationally.
"Typically, high-speed broadband Internet access isn't available at resort and golf communities, yet more and more residents and vacationers are demanding it," said Jonathan A. Wrenn, vice president of sales and marketing at EC. "Hilton Head is well known as a premier golf and resort community. I am thrilled about our partnership with GPSI and the opportunity to bring complete golf business solutions to Hilton Head. It's the ideal first market for our business model."
"Our companies are a great fit," adds Blake Ponuick, vice president of sales and marketing at GPSI. "GPSI is the only GPS-based golf business solution provider using state of the art Wi-Fi network infrastructure. By partnering with EC, who is rapidly putting these networks in place, we can simply plug the Inforemer into their existing high-speed wireless network, rather than having to install a dedicated network exclusively for the GPS golf solution. The golf course benefits from a rapid installation and cost savings, and of course, the additional revenue generating streams our solutions provide."
Hilton Head Island in South Carolina features a year-round golf climate, numerous golf communities and award-winning courses. Annually, Hilton Head Island sees more than 2.2 million visitors and 1,000,000 rounds of golf generating $77 million of revenue.
