Golfer confidence declining, Jan. rounds up

Two-thirds of golfers are cutting spending, NGF says.

"Golfer confidence," as measured by consumer attitudes and perceptions about the effects of the economic recession, declined in December vs. previous measures. When it comes to general finances, two-thirds of the nation's 15.7 million adult Core golfers are feeling the economic strain and are reining in their spending. And, approximately 30%-40% are playing fewer rounds of golf and/or delaying golf equipment purchases.
