"Golfer confidence," as measured by consumer attitudes and perceptions about the effects of the economic recession, declined in December vs. previous measures. When it comes to general finances, two-thirds of the nation's 15.7 million adult Core golfers are feeling the economic strain and are reining in their spending. And, approximately 30%-40% are playing fewer rounds of golf and/or delaying golf equipment purchases.

Rounds Up in January
Rounds played volume in the U.S. was up 8.6% in January 2009 vs. January 2008, according to the National Rounds Played Report, a joint effort of Golf Datatech, NGF, PGA of America and NGCOA.
