Windham, N.Y. - Ben Sutton Golf School has a new northeastern campus at Christman's Windham House Resort and will host its first class April 30 - May 4.
Almost 100 students hailing from 10 states and five countries have already registered for instructional programs at the Windham House Resort campus.
In preparation for the school's opening, and in keeping with Ben Sutton Golf School's time-honored philosophy of practicing real shots under real conditions and situations, new practice tees, target greens and bunkers have been installed on the resort's practice facility. The unique design and configuration offers students a set of dedicated golf holes in which to hit chip, pitch and full shots.
Students participating in any of the three-, five- or seven-day programs will have access to the property's 7,072-yard championship Mountain Course, opened in 2002, and the nine-hole, beginner-friendly "Valley 9" executive course. Also available to students are all Windham House amenities, including: spacious, comfortable rooms spread among six buildings; "fast-dry" tennis court; pool and ping pong tables in the recreation loft; swimming pool; hiking and fine dining at the historic inn.
"The Windham House has done an excellent job of providing the practice facilities required to carry on the Ben Sutton tradition," says Dick Sutton, the school's president. "Our students can put theory into practice on the instruction range or on either of the resort's outstanding golf courses. In the evening, the historic Windham House is the perfect place to wind down with a home-cooked meal and socialize with fellow students and visitors."
For over 35 years, Ben Sutton Golf School has attracted students from population centers throughout the Northeastern U.S. and around the world to its original location in Sun City Center, Florida, centrally located between Tampa and Sarasota. Prospective and returning students are now able to choose between two fully-equipped instructional facilities depending on their travel, climate and golf preferences.
Carrying on its commitment to "non-traditional" instructional curriculums, plans are in the works for the Windham House location to offer Ben Sutton Golf School's nationally recognized "Women Only," program in multi-day formats. Women Only programs feature Ben Sutton Golf School's esteemed, LPGA instructors and provide a comfortable, non-intimidating learning environment for beginning, intermediate and advanced women golfers who want to focus on course management, etiquette and both the short and long games.
