Golf on the (You) Tube

Pat Jones tries to keep up with his Web-savvy children by watching some YouTube videos on golf.

In my continuing quest to try to keep up with my kids in terms of the Internet, I recently spent some time on a few sites that are extremely popular with today’s Web-savvy young people.

It turns out that this was stupid, because they’re always miles ahead of me when it comes to “hot” sites (“MySpace.com is sooooo last week, Dad.”).

But, my research efforts did provide one pleasant surprise.  The site is called YouTube.com and it contains about a bazillion video clips – some amateur, some ripped from commercial shows or TV ads – that are weird, funny, dirty, interesting or otherwise odd.

Thus, I’d like to present you with the fruits of my labor as they apply to golf.  Click below to find out more about what your kids are doing when they’re glued to the computer and about the amazing range of golf-related video junk that people are willing to post on this site.

(WARNING: Some of this stuff is not suitable for viewing at work.  One example is a clip of the incredibly hilarious Robin Williams routine about how the Scots invented golf, which features more F-Bombs than a bad round by John Daly.  You have been warned.  Now enjoy.)
