Golf Maintenance Solutions to provide contract maintenance for North Carolina course

McKee family has owned and operated High Hampton Inn & Country Club since 1922.


Golf Maintenance Solutions founders Bill Nauroth and Dean Wochaski have announced that an agreement has been reached to be the provider of golf course maintenance services for the golf course at High Hampton Inn & Country Club in in Cashiers, N.C.

"We are excited to have our first course maintenance contract in the mountains of North Carolina,” Wochaski said. “We have been working with Mr. Will McKee, the owner, and his team for the last few months implementing good agronomic practices to improve the playing surfaces for the members and guests. Will's allowing us to be totally responsible for the maintenance management shows he has confidence in our abilities."

Wochaski and Dave Downing, the Southeast Regional Agronomist, will work together to provide a smooth transition for the employees and begin implementing the plan to provide consistent playing surfaces.

High Hampton Inn & Country Club has been owned and operated by the McKee family since 1922, and 2016 marks the 94th year the property has been serving its guests. McKee, the current president and owner of the property, is the grandson of Mr. E.L. McKee, who converted the property into a place for people to enjoy all aspects of this mountain retreat. The course was designed by George Cobb and opened for play in 1923.

Lined by towering pines, hemlocks and mountain laurel and surrounded by mountain peaks, all tees, fairways and greens are beautiful and challenging. "We are proud of the golf course and are excited to have Dean and the team from GMS helping us take the course to a new level of conditioning,” McKee said. “We are confident that GMS will create an experience for our guest that they deserve."
