Registration for the 2006 Golf Course Superintendents Association of America Education Conference and Golf Industry Show, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta this February, is under way. The GCSAA Education Conference is Feb. 6 through 11, while the Golf Industry Show is Feb. 9 through 11.

A registration brochure will be distributed by the middle of November. Advance registration is open until Jan. 17. Registration is complimentary for the media.
Presented by GCSAA and the National Golf Course Owners Association, the Golf Industry Show features networking opportunities and hands-on access to golf course and facility management solutions for professional members of the golf industry. The Club Managers Association of America will join as a presenting partner in 2007. Also participating as supporting organizations are the Golf Course Builders Association of America, the American Society of Golf Course Architects and the National Golf Foundation.
The inaugural Golf Industry Show was conducted last February in Orlando. The show attracted 22,723 golf industry professionals and featured 826 exhibitors covering more than 270,760 square feet of exhibit space. Officials are projecting another strong turnout for the 2006 show in Atlanta.
2006 GIS highlights
The 2006 Golf Industry Show will focus on golf course and facility management solutions through six solution centers on the trade show floor. Each solution center will feature dynamic, hands-on displays and demonstrations, as well as educational offerings. They include: Master Plan and the Game, Environment and the Game, Constructing the Game, Conditioning the Game, Operating the Game and Playing the Game.
2006 GCSAA education conference
The GCSAA education conference, conducted in conjunction with the GIS, is the largest educational conference in the turfgrass management industry. More than 100 seminars and 50 additional hours of educational sessions are offered, covering all ranges of golf course management, including agronomics, communication and business management.
2006 GCSAA National Championship and Golf Classic
The GCSAA members-only golf tournament, which takes on a new name and format this year – the GCSAA National Championship and Golf Classic – is slated for five courses in and around The Woodlands in Houston, Texas, Feb. 5 through 7. Registration for the 2006 GCSAA National Championship and Golf Classic is now open.
