GIS attendees given chance to win big bucks with BASF promotion

All GIS attendees visiting BASF have a chance to win MP3 players, DVDs and Rubik’s Cubes while being entertained by world-champion cuber.

More than 100 superintendents will win a share of $6,000 from BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals (Booth 2200) at the 2007 Golf Industry Show in Anaheim Thurs., Feb. 22 – Sat. Feb. 24.

Superintendents will have the opportunity to win $50 if they are spotted wearing the BASF Better Turf sticker throughout the show.

Superintendents have the opportunity to participate in the Win Bucks with BASF Giveaway by visiting the BASF booth to pick up a “Better Turf” sticker to wear throughout the show. The BASF prize patrol will be randomly awarding more than 100 $50 Visa gift cards to superintendents who are spotted wearing their sticker at the show Thursday to Saturday.  All show attendees who visit the BASF booth will have the opportunity to play BASF Plinko for the chance to win a variety of prizes including “Better Turf” Rubik’s Cubes, DVDs, MP3 players and disease-identification glasses.

Competitive Rubik’s Cube solver Tyson Mao will be showcasing his skills
at the BASF booth throughout the show. Mao, 22, can solve a puzzle in 20 seconds and is a former world champion in blindfold Rubik’s Cube solving. Mao has recently appeared on USA Network’s “Character Road Trip,” the CW Television Network’s “Beauty and The Geek 2,” “The Martha Stewart Show” and “The Today Show.” Mao also helped to teach actor Will Smith to “speed cube” for the upcoming film, “The Pursuit of Happyness.”
      
For the fifth year, BASF will sponsor the Innovative Superintendent Breakfast that precedes the Innovative Superintendent Sessions on Thurs., Feb. 22 and Fri., Feb. 23. Ten superintendents from across the country will share 20-minute presentations on an array of innovative business, communications and facility practices. The breakfasts prior to the sessions provide additional opportunities for superintendents to network and share information with peers.
   
Additionally, BASF will participate in the Solutions Challenge, where attendees are challenged to solve golf course problems at 20 flagged booths throughout the show floor. Participants who complete the entire Solutions Challenge will be eligible for prize drawings, including $1,000 worth of BASF Insignia fungicide.
