An eastern Illinois high school football team needed a new weight machine, so the players made a deal with the owner of a golf course -- we'll plant your sod if you'll cover the cost of our machine.
The Effingham Daily News reports that both parties made good on the deal over the weekend.
Football players from Newton Community High School spent the day laying sod at the Stone's Throw Golf Course just west of Newton. Course owner Steve Patterson bought the $2,000 machine and threw in a blocking sled as a bonus.
Football coach Jason Fulton says the deal was a chance for his players to do a little community service and benefit the team, too.
