Latest Audubon International Golf & Environment Initiative Sponsors Announced

This year, Audubon International is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. For two decades, the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program (ACSP) has been promoting environmental education on golf courses and helping golf course superintendents create environmentally-sound management plans. Since the beginning, the program has been supported by the United States Golf Association (USGA). In 2007, Audubon International created the Golf & Environment Initiative and its sponsorship program to help supplement the support from the USGA and program members.

Throughout 2011, Golf & Environment Initiative sponsors are helping Audubon International celebrate the 20-year milestone starting with a kick-off event at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, FL. The invitation-only evening reception will on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, the first night of the Golf Industry Show. "We're excited to celebrate with our certified members, sponsors, and friends," says Kevin A. Fletcher, Ph.D., Executive Director for Audubon International. "We're especially excited to celebrate the last 20 years, look towards the next 20, and announce the first recipient of a new golf and environment leadership award recently created by our Board of Directors. It will be a great night."
