Surely Kingston Heath Golf Club’s golden run has to end soon.
As if a new clubhouse, centenary celebrations and visit from the world’s best golfer Tiger Woods weren’t enough, the club was last week named Australia’s top golf course.
The course snared the title from New South Wales Golf Club and perennial winner Royal Melbourne in the biennial Australian Golf Digest list of the nation’s best courses.
It was the first time since rankings began more than 20 years ago that Royal Melbourne has been ousted from top spot. Kingston Heath general manager Greg Chapple said it was a fitting end to a massive 12 months.
