GCSAA's newest public service announcement features LPGA tour pro Lorena Ochoa. It details how course conditions affect her enjoyment of the game and contributes to her success. It will be featured on The Golf Channel and ESPN.
The GCSAA commercial, which features Ochoa reminding golfers to "respect the game, respect the course," was filmed late last year. Ochoa, in addition to ranking number one in the world, has become a favorite of golf course superintendents. She frequently visits with golf course maintenance staffs at events to express her appreciation of their efforts.
You can also view the PSA on You Tube or through the GCSAA Web site.
The Ochoa message is part of GCSAA's continuing media outreach efforts.
The association has recently landed coverage for its members on Golf Talk USA's online radio golf show "We're Talking Golf," the PGA Tour Network on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio and a golf architecture blog called Punchbowl Golf.
Additionally, About.com's golf section used (and credited) GCSAA's ballmark repair instructions in a ballmark repair tutorial posted on the mainstream how-to online resource, The Golf Channel has increased its online course conditions information supplied by GCSAA for each week's PGA Tour stop, and GCSAA communications is also posting news updates on Twitter.
