The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America will support two new agronomic research projects in 2026 through grants from the GCSAA Foundation research endowments.
The projects were selected by a committee that included two members of the GCSAA board of directors along with superintendents, university researchers and other professional scientists. Each project will receive up to $100,000 from a GCSAA Foundation block grant.
The following projects are funded for a period of two years:
- “Integrating alternative strategies to improve the sustainable management of dollar spot” by Paul Koch, Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison. Co-supported by Wisconsin Golf Course Superintendents Association.
- “Nematode Resistance Management on Golf Course Turf” by William T. Crow, Ph.D., University of Florida.
With the 2026 funding, the GCSAA is currently supporting nine ongoing university research projects, which equate to $582,807 in funding for applied turfgrass research.
