The Golf Course Superintendents Association of New England (GCSA of New England) elected its 2015 board of directors during its recent annual meeting at Fenway Park in Boston.
The board will include: Michael Luccini, CGCS, president, Franklin Country Club; David Johnson, vice president, Wianno Club; Jason VanBuskirk, treasurer, Stowe Acres Country Club; Jeff Urquhart, secretary, Milton Hoosic Club; Kris Armando, trustee, Sassamon Trace Golf Course; David Stowe, CGCS, trustee, Newton Commonwealth Golf Course; Peter Rappoccio, CGCS, Concord Country Club; Ed Downing, trustee, New England Specialty Soils; Donald D’Errico, finance chairman, Spring Valley Country Club; John Ponti, golf chairman, Nehoiden Golf Club; Brian Skinner, CGCS, education chairmen, Bellevue Golf Club; Greg Cormier, CGCS, newsletter chairmen, Nashawtuc Country Club; and Mark Gagne, past president, Walpole Country Club.
Sterling Golf Management owner Kevin Osgood received GCSA of New England’s Distinguished Service Award at the annual meeting.
The GCSA of New England was founded in 1924 and serves over 400 members, most of whom are superintendents and assistant superintendents at golf facilities throughout New England. The GCSA of New England’s mission includes furthering the education of its members in the science of golf course maintenance, encouraging the free exchange of ideas and experiences, advancing the interests and welfare of its members, encouraging the highest standards of dignity, integrity and skill in the profession, and fostering active cooperation and participation in all things good for the profession such as turfgrass conferences, experimental and research work, government advocacy and environmental stewardship.
