GCI is traveling the country in 2017 for a series of events focused on using data, GPS and advanced spraying systems to improve the efficiency of your operations. The third of four GCI Tech Tour conferences is Tuesday, May 23 at Midland Hills Country Club in Roseville, Minn. GCI Tech Tour 17 is exclusively sponsored by WinField United.
“We had lots of folks reach out to us about hosting events after our inaugural GCI Tech conference last year,” said publisher Pat Jones. “The idea of focusing the agenda on the critical issue of precision turf management and holding it in multiple locations was really exciting. It also fits perfectly with what WinField United is introducing to the market via its new GeoTech Insight Platform so we were delighted to partner exclusively with them this year to do the Tech Tour.”
And, thanks to the sponsorship, this year’s Tech Tour events will be free of charge to superintendents and other turf professionals in each area.
Each event will cover all key aspects of data gathering, management and application as well as feature the experiences of experts who’ve been leaders in data-driven agronomy.
Jones will host the events and present his thoughts on the state of the golf/turf industry. Other featured speakers at the Denver event will include:
• Ken Rost, CEO of Frost Sprayers, Inc., a leader in high-tech application systems for turf.
• Aaron Johnsen, director of technical services for WinField, who’s helped to spearhead the company’s data services and GeoTech tool.
• John Cunningham, assistant general manager/director of agronomy, Bellerive (Mo.) Country, who’s implemented numerous strategic programs to help the 2018 PGA Championship site.
Superintendents and others in Denver and surrounding areas can sign up now at the GCI Tech Tour Registration site by clicking here. Again, there is no charge for superintendents to attend and lunch is included. The event begins at 8 a.m (CDT).
The final GCI Tech Tour events in 2017 will be held in Nassau County, N.Y. A time, date and location will be announced shortly.
The first leg of the GCI Tech Tour was March 29 at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas and the second leg was April 26 at Lone Tree Golf Club in suburban Denver.
