August 21 is the deadline to apply to attend the professional development program for golf course superintendents, to be held December 3-6 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
For the fourth year, Syngenta is inviting golf course superintendents across the United States to apply to attend the Syngenta Business Institute, an innovative professional business development program. Syngenta developed the program specifically for golf course superintendents, in conjunction with the Wake Forest University School of Business.
The four-day program will supplement and complement superintendents’ existing knowledge base towards more productive and efficient golf course management. The curriculum provides hands-on knowledge for superintendents to enhance their business acumen, and provides a set of leadership skills for their professional development.
Workshop sessions focus on financial and human resources management, delegation and negotiation skills, effective communications techniques, managing generational differences and more.
The Syngenta Business Institute will be held Dec. 3-6, 2012, at Graylyn International Conference Center on the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Superintendents must fill out an application, which includes a 250-word essay on why they believe they should be selected to attend. Applications are due by Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012. Syngenta will select 25 individuals to participate based on their essays and commitment to the industry. The application and instructions can be found at www.greencastonline.com/SBI.
