Snowshoeing a problem for Northwood G.C.

Northwood Golf Club has seen more snowshoeing than usual this winter according to golf course superintendent Joe Andersen.

That presents a problem for fairways and greens he says as the compacted snow can create ice on the grass underneath, which can potentially kill it. Andersen will only know the extent of any problems in the spring.

Andersen said he’s seen signs of snowshoeing at the golf course in the past, but only occasionally. This year so far, the signs of snowshoeing have been fairly significant.
