Billy Casper Golf (BCG) has stepped up its resources commitment to the World Golf Foundation (WGF) and its growth-of-golf initiatives in 2011.
This includes the national program GOLF 20/20, comprised of “Get Golf Ready,” “We Are Golf” and “Image of the Game,” dedicated to increase the participation in golf as well as a grass-roots advocacy effort.
BCG was a Founding Contributor in 2009 to support “Get Golf Ready” that targets millions of U.S. adults who have minimal if any previous connection to the game or need rejuvenation after a hiatus. A series of five one-hour golf lessons in a non-intimidating environment, “Get Golf Ready” has been successfully adopted by several BCG courses.
New elements of BCG’s 2011 programming include:
- “We Are Golf” tells the stories of the hardworking men and women whose livelihoods depend on the game by showcasing golf’s diverse businesses and the economic impact they make in their communities. Golf spawns tourism, generates charity and provides environmental benefits.
- “Image of the Game” develops and delivers clear messages to non-golf audiences of key influencers, including government officials and media, about the industry’s significant economic, human and environmental contributions.
“Billy Casper Golf is a passionate industry leader that develops many cutting-edge programs,” says Steve Mona, CEO of World Golf Foundation. “The company’s support of GOLF 20/20 is a model for others to consider in growing and preserving the game and business of golf.”
“Galvanizing golf’s leaders to ensure the continued vitality of the game is an important venture,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “Billy Casper Golf is honored to help World Golf Foundation lead the way.”
