One of America’s best-respected superintendents, Mark Wilson, CGCS, has joined The Hill Company’s agronomic and sales team.
Chuck Breitenbach, VP of Sales with The Hill Company, announced today that Wilson, the longtime superintendent at Valhalla GC, will serve in the newly created role of Lead Agronomic Advisor and will become a member of the company’s Midwest sales team.
A 1976 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with an A.S. in Turf & Horticulture, Mark has over 40 years experience within the Golf & Turf Industry. As a Certified Golf Course Superintendent for 22 years at Valhalla, Mark hosted five major championships as well as the 2008 Ryder Cup Matches. He is the recipient of numerous industry honors, including the Kentucky Turfgrass Council's "Man of the Year" award and Eastern Kentucky University’s "Alumnus of the Year" award. Despite his own accomplishments, Mark says that he most proud of the fact that ten of his former assistant superintendents now hold positions as head superintendents today.
Doug Hill, President of The Hill Company said, "Mark's spirit and enthusiasm are well known and contagious. Mark's resume and experience speak for themselves. I’m excited about what Mark will be able to bring to our customers both in terms of agronomic expertise and support for their day-to-day management needs."
