Club Car, The European Tour extend relationship

Club Car will continue to provide golf cars and utility vehicles for European Tour Events and 2014 Ryder Cup.

Club Car, a brand of Ingersoll Rand, and The European Tour have extended their longstanding relationship through 2014. The agreement means Club Car golf cars and utility vehicles will continue to play an important role at all European Tour events and The 2014 Ryder Cup.

As part of the agreement, at least 70 Club Car golf cars will continue to be used at European Tour events by rules officials, television production teams, promoters and staging staff.

Club Car, the world’s largest manufacturer of four-wheel electric vehicles, will also be the Official Supplier of Golf Cars and Golf Utility Vehicles to The 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in Scotland. For the Ryder Cup matches, Club Car will provide 300 vehicles essential in the operation of golf’s most prestigious team event.

George O’Grady, chief executive of The European Tour, said: “We are delighted to extend our long-term partnership with Club Car through 2014. This relationship will continue to prove vital to the operational success of each European Tour event, including The 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, and we look forward to working with Club Car for many more years to come.”

Club Car’s relationship with The European Tour began in 1999.

Marc Dufour, president and CEO of Club Car, said: “Every week our vehicles form part of the logistical backbone of The European Tour, and to have a role to play in every tournament and the Ryder Cup, as we did at Celtic Manor in 2010, gives us great pride. We are honored to continue this relationship.”
