Steve Hamilton, CGCS from The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C., takes over as president of the 1,800-member Carolinas GCSA on Wednesday. Hamilton will be the second superintendent from The Dunes Club and the eighth from Myrtle Beach to lead the association since its founding in 1954. He assumes the leadership mantle from Doug Lowe, CGCS from Greensboro Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., during the association’s annual business meeting.
Scott Kennon, CGCS from Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte, N.C., was also expected to be elected to the board of directors with Danny Allen, from Camden Country Club in Camden, S.C., returning to fill a seat reserved for past-presidents. -- Trent Bouts
