The To-Do List

We break out the Top 5 things you need to do today to get the most out of your 2012 Carolinas Show experience.

There's a lot to see and do today at the 2012 Carolinas GCSA Conference and Trade Show. So we decided to highlight five things you definitely shouldn't miss.

1. Work the show. No late start on Wednesday. Today's trades show hours start at 10 a.m. and last till 3 p.m.

2. Get Smart! Don't miss out on these great education opportunities. The first set of general education sessions goes from 8 to 9:30 a.m. then picks up again in the afternoon from 3 till 5:30 p.m. Wednesday's General Session is sponsored by Radios For Golf and Vertex Standard.

3. Check your health. Free skin cancer screenings will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at Booth #3701. A limited number of screenings will be available during this time, so be sure to sign up at the conference registration desk in the Hall of Fame to hold your spot. The screenings are provided by Grand Strand Dermatology. At the very least, stop by the booth and pick up some great infomation that just might save your life.

4. Grab some grub. No, we don't mean turf pests, we're talking good eats. Don't miss the buffet luncheon that takes place in the Exhibit Hall from Noon to 1:30 p.m. Then afterwards work that lunch off by walking the show floor and talking with exhibitors. The lunch is sponsored by Coastal Floratine and Phoenix Environmental Care.

5. Honor a legend. Former Carolinas GCSA president Fred Meda will receive the Carolinas GCSA's highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award. Fred will be out and about the show, so be sure to congratulate and shake his hand when you see him. Catch the awards presentation at 3 p.m. in Ballroom E.
