This award honors companies for environmental excellence in protecting the local community’s water quality. Jacobsen is a division of Textron, Inc. (NYSE: TXT). Environmental Excellence Award winners have complied with their pollution discharge requirements, cooperated fully with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities and exhibited a proactive and innovative approach to protecting water quality. Chris Wissinger, Jacobsen’s facilities manager commented, “Jacobsen is committed to protecting our environment and operating as a responsible corporate citizen of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. We have won the Environmental Excellence Silver Award in years past, so to win the Gold Award this year is confirmation that we are making the right decisions to effectively manage our environmental impact.
