BCG to manage Tampa's Emerald Greens

BCG will enact its proprietary “BCGreen” initiative at Emerald Greens to conserve, protect and enhance the environment.

Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – owner and operator of more than 125 golf courses, country clubs and resorts – has been selected to manage the Emerald Greens Golf Resort and Country Club in Tampa, FL by new owner, Convergent Capital Partners LLC.

Recognized as one of the most welcoming communities on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Emerald Greens has an impressive collection of condominiums, townhomes and vacation villas.  27 holes of championship golf, and other recreational and social amenities, meet with rave reviews from members and resort guests.

The engagement increases BCG’s management portfolio to 12 in Florida and 20 in the Southeast.  In 2011, the company has assumed operation of 14 private, public and resort properties, many within upscale within master-planned communities.

BCG will oversee all aspects of member programs, operations, golf course and property maintenance, sales, marketing and public relations, staffing and training, merchandising, restaurant and banquet activities, financial management and special events.
“Billy Casper Golf has the marketing and guest-relations wherewithal to take Emerald Greens to the next level,” Santosh Govindaraju of Convergent Capital Partners LLC, owner of Emerald Greens.  “This provides current members, residents and visitors with terrific experiences time and again.”

“Emerald Greens is right in Billy Casper Golf’s management wheelhouse,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG.  “The excellent golf, natural beauty and sense of community represent an excellent footprint for growth.”

BCG will enact its proprietary “BCGreen” initiative at Emerald Greens to conserve, protect and enhance the environment.  Emerald Greens’ enrollment in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” program will increase efficiencies in maintenance, energy, water, pesticides, fertilizer, equipment wear and labor.

Emerald Greens is home to three, distinct nine-hole layouts – Meadow, Cypress and Pine – providing challenges to golfers of all abilities.  The peaceful, Dan Maples-design rolls through pine and cypress trees with large, undulating greens, numerous water hazards and an assortment of pot and waste bunkers.  Length off the tee is not vital, but each hole places a premium on strategy and accuracy.
The Meadow course boasts the signature par-3, a 158-yard forced carry over water and a bunker to a rolling green for a nerve-wracking tee shot and putt.  On the Cypress nine, the 450-yard, par-4 No. 4 hole is a tough test with water left of the fairway and right of the narrow, elevated green.  The finishing hole on the Pine course is a 490-yard, par-5 with golfers hitting their approach shots onto a dramatic island green.
An expansive golf practice facility with a double-side driving range and two putting and chipping greens compliment PGA instruction.
