Tee-2-Green to debut new bentgrass

Introducing its latest advanced creeping bentgrass variety, Pure Select, at the 2013 GIS.

Tee-2-Green is introducing its latest advanced creeping bentgrass variety, Pure Select, at the 2013 Golf Industry Show in booth 2238. This new variety has been bred for its dense, upright and aggressive growth habit. "Pure Select has outstanding wear tolerance, produces less thatch and has remarkably strong disease, heat, cold and wear tolerance," says Lew Sharp, agronomist and golf course consultant for Tee-2-Green. “It's an exceptional bentgrass for greens, tees and fairways."

Also new at GIS is the Tee-2-Green PureFormance fairway blend, which combines Penneagle ll, PennLinks ll and Crystal BlueLinks in a genetically diverse blend that provides the highest quality playing surfaces. PureFormance fairway blend is ideal for new establishment, overseeding and interseeding into existing turf.

Two featured varieties this year at GIS are Pure Distinction and Crystal BlueLinks. Introduced in 2012, Pure Distinction has superior disease resistance to bacterial wilt, brown patch, fusarium patch, anthracnose and leaf spot, as well as great resistance to dollar spot. It is also highly tolerant of temperature extremes, stands up to wear, and is able to thrive with fewer inputs. Crystal BlueLinks displays a unique blue-green color. It has a semi-erect growth habit, recovers quickly from damage and has outstanding disease resistance.

Seeds of Fortune Returns
One of the most popular attractions on the show floor every year, Seeds of Fortune, returns to the Tee-2-Green booth (2238) in 2013. Contestants spin the big wheel and answer golf- and turf-related multiple-choice questions for a chance to win prizes. College students, get your teams together to compete against other top turf schools in the Seeds of Fortune Turf Challenge.
