The Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG) is launching a campaign to increase the number of individual donors through the Golden Tee Club Challenge presented by Jacobsen.
Jacobsen, a Textron company, is sponsoring the EIFG's Golden Tee Club Challenge, which aims to reach 700 members in the Golden Tee Club by the end of 2010. The EIFG has secured nearly 300 Golden Tee Club members so far this year.
The Golden Tee Club is the giving club for individuals that contribute a minimum of $100 annually to the EIFG, which is the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).
"We appreciate Jacobsen's support of this campaign to increase the participants in the Golden Tee Club," said Rhett Evans, interim CEO of GCSAA and the EIFG. "This is a great opportunity for individuals to support the development of resources and programs that golf facilities can use to commit to continual improvement and drive toward the goal of sustainability."
Jacobsen is a long-time supporter of GCSAA and the EIFG. It is a Gold Partner in the GCSAA Partner Recognition Program and a Champions Club member of the EIFG's cumulative giving program of organizations that have contributed between $250,000 and $499,999 since 1987. With its support of the Golden Tee Challenge, Jacobsen joins the Platinum Tee Club for organizations that contribute a minimum of $5,000 annually to the EIFG.
"The work the EIFG is doing in leading the golf industry in sustainability, as well as research and education, is something we at Jacobsen are strong supporters of," said Jacobsen Marketing Manager Deanna Griffith, PMP, CMP, CME, PCM. "We take great pride in our business and are pleased to have achieved ISO 14001 Certification for environmental management that has reduced energy and raw material consumption, decreased waste management costs, lowered distribution costs and provides a framework for continual improvement of environmental performance. We know that the environment is the cornerstone of our business and that of our customers so we hope to encourage more individuals to join Jacobsen in the Golden Tee Challenge to support the EIFG."
