268-acre Joppa, Md., course sold to restaurant and hospitality industry veterans.

The National Golf & Resort Properties Group of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, the nation’s largest real estate investment services firm, has announced the sale of Mountain Branch Golf Club, a 268 acre golf course located in Joppa, according to Steven Ekovich, Director of the National Golf & Resort Group of the firm’s Tampa office.

Steven Ekovich, the lead agent on the asset sale, represented the seller, a financial institution based in Pennsylvania. Steve Ekovich also facilitated the buyer, Konstantinos Vasilakopoulos and Joseph Miklasz, in the acquisition of the property. Mr. Ekovich said that “Bill and Joe were the right buyers for this property because of the high concentration of food and beverage business which many golf operators were uncomfortable with. Bill’s extensive restaurant and hospitality background combined with his new and exciting vision for Mountain Branch will change the existing reputation of the club back to its storied heritage.” The Clubhouse offers panoramic views from one of the highest points in Harford County and includes the Grill & Pub, an award-winning and well known Maryland restaurant and popular nightlife destination.

Mountain Branch, a semi-private golf facility conditioned on par with the best country clubs, is a regional favorite and dubbed a “must-play” by Washington Golf Monthly, the Washington Times and Mid-Atlantic Golfer. With engaging architecture featuring split fairways, rolling greens, rock and water features and breathtaking views, all the elements come together for an unforgettable day of golf.

Ekovich went on to say that “this is the 29th golf course sold by the National Golf & Resort Properties Group in 19 months and, the Group has another 10 golf properties currently under contract and continues to bring quality exclusive listings to the market.
