Toro donates $5,000 to the EIFG

Long-time partner recognized in Platinum Tee Club.

The Toro Co. continues its long-time support of The Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), with a $5,000 donation toward research and education to enhance golf's relationship with the environment.

Toro attains Platinum Tee Club status with the donation. The Platinum Tee Club is the EIFG's giving club for organizations that contribute a minimum of $5,000 annually. Toro was a charter member of the Platinum Tee Club in 1988 and has retained membership every year since.

"Toro shares the EIFG's vision to strengthen the compatibility of golf with the environment," said Nike Vice President Bob Wood, chairman of the EIFG Board of Trustees. "Toro has continued to invest in research of new technologies, advancement of the science of turf management, and support a greater awareness around important environmental concerns."

Toro is a long-time supporter of GCSAA and the EIFG, cultivating a relationship with the association for more than 80 years. It is a Platinum Partner in the GCSAA Partner Recognition Program and a Victory Club member of the EIFG's cumulative giving program. The annual GCSAA National Championship and Golf Classic has been presented in partnership with Toro since 1995, and Toro is a double eagle sponsor of the Golf Industry Show Silent Auction as well. The GCSAA Golf Course Environmental Profile has been funded by The Toro Giving Program and it also supports the EIFG's online environmental resource, EDGE. Toro also partners with the EIFG to fund the Watson Fellowship Program for future educators and researchers of the turfgrass industry.

"Toro believes in the importance of advancing the sustainability of the golf industry," said Darren Redetzke, Toro vice president of commercial business. "We are pleased to partner with the EIFG in this valuable effort and continue our support of GCSAA and its members."
