Superintendents who are making turf colorant purchasing decisions now have an opportunity to help support the Wee One Foundation. Through December 31, 2012, all purchases of Transition HC, Becker Underwood’s high concentrate dark turf colorant, will generate a donation to the foundation.
“We are honored to partner with the Wee One Foundation in support of their mission to provide financial assistance to golf course management professionals and their families during times of hardship,” says Joe Lara, product manager at Becker Underwood.
For every case of Transition HC purchased between August 15 and December 31, 2012, Becker Underwood will donate $10 on behalf of the purchasing superintendent to the Wee One Foundation. And for every early purchase made between August 15 and September 30, 2012, Becker Underwood will add an additional $5 per case matching gift, for a total donation of $15 per case.
"The Wee One Foundation is very fortunate to have a fine company like Becker Underwood support our cause,” says Luke Cella, executive director of Wee One Foundation. “The Foundation humbly makes a difference in the lives of those who are ill. It allows persons who are struggling to focus on their health and well-being by providing a small amount of financial relief. Additionally, it lifts the human spirit because of everyone, like Becker Underwood, who is quietly involved supporting the Wee One Foundation and those who are in need."
“This program benefits everyone involved,” Lara explains. “Distributors and superintendents can get product early as they prepare for fall and winter while also supporting the foundation,” he notes. “These funds will go back into supporting our industry as a whole.”
The Wee One Foundation was developed to assist golf course management professionals (or their dependents) who incur overwhelming expenses due to medical hardship without comprehensive insurance or adequate financial resources.
Since its inception in 2004, the Wee One Foundation has gifted over $500,000 to families in Arizona, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Idaho, Minnesota, California, and Texas. As the Wee One grows more people are helped and more funds are needed to distribute to those in need. Visit www.weeone.org<http://www.weeone.org> for more information about the organization.
