Five members of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) advanced to Regular member status at the recent ASGCA Annual Meeting in Chattanooga, Tenn. The change in status keeps them among the more than 175 ASGCA members, by far the largest professional society of golf course architects in the world.
The members earned the new designation by meeting the association’s requirements, including continuing their engagement and practice of golf course architecture while having been an ASGCA Associate member for at least three years. Those advancing to Regular member status (and some of their recent golf course architecture work) include:
- Jim Engh, Jim Engh Design, Castle Rock, Colo. – Four Mile Ranch, Canon City, Colo.; Awarii Dunes, Kearney, Neb.; and Creek Club – Reynolds Plantation, Greensboro, Ga.
- Robert McNeil, The Northeast Golf Company, Saunderstown, R.I. – Mohegan Sun Country Club at Pautipaug, Baltic, Conn. (18-hole remodel); Sterling Farms Golf Course, Stamford, Conn. (18-hole remodel); and Orchard Hills Golf Course, Paramus, N.J. (9-hole remodel).
- Doug Myslinski, Jacobson Golf Design Company, Libertyville, Ill. – Bowes Creek Country Club, Elgin, Ill.; and Ibaraki Kokusai Golf Club, Ibaraki Prefecture, Osaka, Japan.
- Ted Robinson, Jr., Robinson Golf, Inc., Laguna Beach, Calif. – Whistling Rock, Seoul, Korea; Marriott Desert Springs – Palm Course, Palm Desert, Calif. (18-hole remodel).
- Mark Voss, Robert Trent Jones II, LLC, Palo Alto, Calif. – Onyria Palmares Beach and Golf Resort, Meia Praia, Lagos, Algarve, Portugal; and Riviera Maya Golf Club, Bahia Principe Resort, Akuma, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
